how to race a boat around the world...

Thanks for visiting Michael's Round the World Adventure. I've set up this site so that people can keep track of my progress as I take part in the Clipper Round the World yacht race in the coming year.

In September 2009, I left my normal life behind me, as I set off on a gruelling 10 month, 35,000 mile yacht race around the world. The race has been incident filled - and there are now 9 of the original fleet of 10 identical racing yachts remaining, after we had to abandon Cork Clipper when we struck a submerged reef in the Java Sea. The route remains the same - departure was from Hull in the UK, to La Rochelle in France, to Rio de Janeiro, Capetown, Fremantle in Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Qingdao in China, across the Pacific to San Francisco, through the Panama Canal into the Carribean, up to New York, Nova Scotia, across the Atlantic to Cork in Ireland, and back to Hull. Keep up to date on these pages!
